Taperwire is an ultra-flat speaker wire with a self-adhesive backing that allows you to easily hide the wire in plain sight. Many houses are not conducive to running wire after the walls are up. Stucco, plaster and masonry walls can pose challenges for even the most skilled installer. Fire blocking within the wall cavities and foam insulation can be impossible obstacles to overcome.
Taperwire is less than 1/32in thick. Simply stick it to the wall and cover it with paint, wallpaper or joint compound to make it disappear. IDC connectors are included with Taperwire to make the connection between the round and flat wire; the only tool needed is a pair of pliers. 18 gauge, 2-conductor.
Installation Tip: Run standard round speaker wire behind the baseboard or in the space between the carpet tackstrip and baseboard. Then make a transition to Taperwire to run up the wall from the baseboard to the speaker. Finally, apply drywall joint compound over the Taperwire, sand lightly and paint.
